I attended a useful meeting yesterday (via Elluminate), organised by our funders – the JISC Business and Community Engagement programme.

JISC BCE Programme Meeting Elluminate ScreenShot

This gave an opportunity for us to share information about our projects with others and to understand where commonalities arise, so that we can reuse as much relevant know-how and experience as possible over the one-year duration of the programme.

Although ours is the only project in the programme strand that develops with mobile technology, there are other innovative projects working, like us, on opensource code development and facilitating the transfer of the benefits of this institutional innovation to other sectors, including business sectors and the general public. One such example is Southampton University’s Realise project which (in partnership with Sheffield University) will continue work with the Health sector to promote open source technology solutions that assist the elderly and people with disabilities.
